Working, Filled & Order Status Tutorial

There are three (3) Order screen menu choices which consist of Working Orders, Filled Orders and Order Status. The Working Orders screen will show all current orders for the current trading session that have not yet been filled as well as all working GTC orders. The Filled Orders screen will show all orders filled for the current trading session. The Order Status screen (shown below) shows all order activity including working, filled, modified/replaced and cancelled orders for the current trading session as well as any open GTC orders.

The Order Status screen will probably be the screen you will refer to the most often as it shows a complete summary of all your trading activity and orders for the current trading session.

You will also access this screen to Cancel or Modify working orders. To cancel or modify an existing working order, simply click on the appropriate link, [Cancel] or [Modify] for the appropriate order ticket. If canceling an order, the status will change to pending cancel and will turn yellow. If you need to modify an existing order, clicking 'modify' will bring up the order entry screen for the order ticket you would like to change. You can then change, for example, the price and then re-submit the revised order. After refreshing the Order Status screen, you will see the modified order now has a new ticket number and it's status will be green for Working. The previous order ticket you modified will now have it's status as Replaced in blue. It is always best to modify an existing order rather than canceling it and making a new ticket as you eliminate the risk of a double fill if both orders were to get filled. If you cancel or modify an order that has already been filled, the status will change that the order was Too Late To Cancel and you will receive a fill report. This process can take up to 30 minutes to be reported by the exchange.

Please note: The Working Orders, Filled Orders and Order Status screens do not automatically update themselves. You will need to either refresh the screen or switch to another screen and come back for a live update for your order status.
